From Ecclesiastes 4:2-3

2 And I declared that the dead, who had already died, are happier than the living, who are still alive. 3 But better than both is the one who has never been born, who has not seen the evil that is done under the sun.

Life is nothing more than a prison, more so a torture chamber created by god himself. He says it himself in this verse it is best to not be born. None of us asked to be here. All of us suffer many, many things in life, unbearable things. Where is gods mercy?

A close friend of mine, and I have very, very few, told me only a few days ago that he "wish he were dead". He struggles with terrible back pain which the doctors can't seem to to anything about. I know he had a very rough childhood, and a career where he worked hard. endured much, and yet was never appreciated. This I can also identify with. I too "wish I were dead". Life on this earth is misery as the bible clearly states. Only fools live in joy. I wish both he and I were fools, but we're not.
